Improves students' ability to read, understand, and solve problems
Helps teachers adapt and present their content in more effective ways
Addresses the gap between what students are expected to do and what students are able to do

The Strategic Instruction Model™ integrates two kinds of interventions designed to address the gap between what students are expected to do and what students are able to do.

The student-focused Learning Strategies include skills and procedures that improve students’ ability to read, understand, express themselves, solve problems, think critically, remember key information, and function effectively in groups.

The teacher-focused Content Enhancement Routines enable teacher to present critical content in learner-friendly ways.  They include methods that help teachers adapt and present their content in more effective ways.  Teachers improve their ability to select critical content outcomes, use instructional devices such as graphic organizers to highlight key elements of the content, and present information in a partnership with students.
